Three Viewings Director's Notes

Loss…of loved ones; opportunities; self-respect; friends; even loss of the littlest things…   Each experience is a different challenge, requiring different coping skills, bearing different gifts in its hands.   In Three Viewings, Jeffrey Hatcher gives us three people dealing with their loss in ways that are funny, painful, poignant.  We watch them wade through their grief and confusion to a place where resolution or forgetfulness may offer some solace, and we examine our own hearts.

In watching someone who doesn’t know what she’s got until it’s gone, can we learn to avoid that sad mistake?   Are we aware of the winds of time that may be slowly sweeping away the things we love most?  Can we learn something about the healing process, and about how to help one another?  Can we be open to the bright new phases of life that are uncovered when one chapter ends and another begins?

What...in the end...do we choose to hold onto?
